Heat Sheet and Meet Day Reminders - meet #4 at Avondale
***There are going to be extremely high temperatures today. We pushed back the swimmer arrival time to later than usual to limit the amount of time in the heat. Please take this into consideration and do not arrive late. We suggest your car arrives earlier (to ensure time to find parking), but that you stay in the air-conditioned car until necessary. Our bullpen is on the Avondale basketball court, which we are expecting to be HOT. We will bring a few tents, but feel free to bring a tent, if you have one, or extra folding chairs for swimmers and parents to sit on and not the hot ground. Please bring extra ICE water, Gatorade, etc. If an emergency arises and you will not be there by 5:00, please call or text Julie Linsley at 706-206-3106.
Swimmers arrive by 5:00 pm
Avondale warm ups: 5:00-5:30 pm
Our warm ups: 5:30-6:00 pm
Meet starts at 6:00 pm
The heat sheet is attached to this email. Print out a copy for yourself as we will have limited copies at the meet for volunteers only. Use your heat sheet to mark your swimmer before you leave!
MARK YOUR SWIMMER: Please plan to mark your swimmer’s arm with their events prior to meet arrival. This will save valuable time – and will encourage your swimmer’s excitement for each race. So grab a sharpie at home and go for it. An example is linked here.
- E is Event, H is Heat, L is lane, and S is stroke.
- If it is the Medley Relay here is the schedule of strokes: Back, Breast, Butterfly, Free
- Write swimmer name and age group on back shoulder.
PARKING: The address for Avondale is 51 Dartmouth Avenue. Dartmouth Ave is ONE WAY in front of the pool. There will be a barricade with a Road Closed sign to indicate this. Please respect this, as it is put in place for the safety of pedestrians, many of them children, who are walking in the area. The parking lot is small and closed to general parking, so plan to park on the street. Parents can park throughout the neighborhood but be considerate of residents and do not block driveways.
