Swimmers arrive at 4:45 pm | Do not forget to check in (tell your older kids & caregivers!)
- Check in - look for the lightning bolt pinata; Bullpens will be on the north side of the pool deck (the section that runs parallel to Vigo Street, the diving board side, closer to the kiddie pool.
- Parking is not ideal, plan your timing accordingly, see below "Parking" for drop off instructions and attached image
- Pay special attention to this information, including where NOT to go
- Theme: Halloween! Lake Claire has themed meets, swimmers and parents are welcome to participate in the meet's theme.
- Concessions are iffy, recommend that you pack your own food and beverage
Our warm ups: 5:25-5:50 pm
Timer meeting: 5:45PM
Meet starts at 6:00 pm
Be checked in and in the bullpen by 5PM. It is VERY important that swimmers are there and ready. If your swimmer is not there, lineup changes will need to be made. If an emergency arises and you will not be there by 5PM, please call or text Jaime Raymond at 770-364-7917 OR Ashley Hindenlang at 615-428-6765.
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Thank you to ALL the parents who have already volunteered. We still need a few roles filled:
6&Under Girls Bullpen (1)
12&Under Boys Bullpen (1)
Please visit our team site and sign up to help.
PARKING: Lake Claire Pool is located at 1900 Dekalb Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30307. There is limited parking within the pool community as well as on the surrounding streets. There are about 20 designated pool spots within the community (marked with signage). We ask that you please do not park in the unmarked spots as those belong to the townhome community.
- We are encouraged to carpool when possible. If families want to drop off swimmers, we encourage them to do so at the corner of Hampton Terrace and Vigo street.
- The pool and townhome community has asked that we please DO NOT drop off swimmers on Colebrook Street as it is a dead end and turning around is extremely challenging (and cars back up and block in the neighbors).
- Walk on down the sidewalk past the mailboxes and towards the pool to reach the main entrance.
- See attached image for details
- A parent volunteer will be at the gate to greet your swimmers and families. Please let them know they are there for the swim meet.
CHECK-IN: Swimmer should check in with Madison Jameson near the entrance (look for the lightning bolt pinata) when they arrive. Volunteers should check in with Laura Kavtaradze and Rebecca Keefer upon arrival. If you are running late or an emergency comes up that will keep you from getting there on time, please call or text Jaime Raymond at 770-364-7917 OR Ashley Hindenlang at 615-428-6765.
SEATING:
-
Spectators are welcome to sit along the long sides of the pool. We do save space on the record board side of the pool for the ref and three finish judges, and ask that your families please do not move/sit in those chairs. The shallow end of the pool is reserved for timers and relay starts, and ask that families please do not sit there. Finally, we do not allow any seating behind the starting blocks, or in front of the section where we have the starter and the computer table (also on the record board side of the pool).
CONCESSIONS: The Wahoo no longer sell concessions at swim meets as new pool ownership prohibits any outside sales of food/beverage on deck. There is now a pool sponsored concessionaire that should be selling food and beverages at the meet. At this time we don't know the concessionaire plan or menu (it is our understanding they are updating things), so recommend that your families pack in their own food and beverage (please no glass on deck). We will send along any updates we get on concessions.
REMINDERS FOR YOUR SWIMMERS:
- CHECK IN (Remind your teen swimmers / caregivers of younger swimmers)
- Drink plenty of fluids (water, Gatorade, sports drinks) and to rest as much as possible during the day. This goes for ALL AGES of swimmers.
- Make sure to pack some extra water for everyone coming.
- Let’s show our sportsmanship and bullpen etiquette!
- We will send out the heat sheet after the Tuesday morning practice sessions. Mark your swimmer’s arm with their events prior to meet arrival.
Wednesday, June 4th:
- As you can see on our practice schedule, we do not have practices on Wednesday mornings after meets.
- After each meet, we will have ice cream at the snack bar for each participating swimmer from the previous night. If you give the snack bar employee your name and let them know you would like your swim team ice cream, they will hand it over. The ice cream is only good for 6 days so don’t forget to ask after each swim meet.
- Regular afternoon practice
- Ribbons available for pick up in the ribbon file (located on the bench by the concession stand).
- If you haven’t marked your availability for next week’s meet on 6/10, please do so before Thursday.
Thursday, June 5th:
- Normal morning and afternoon practice sessions
Friday, June 6th
- No practice
Saturday, June 7th
- Junior Bolts first meet is Saturday at 9:00 am, arrive at 8:30AM
Go Bolts!
